Amy Norrington Cello
Amy Norrington is a renowned chamber musician who performs in all the major concert halls and festivals of Europe and beyond. She also performs as a soloist, and as a guest principal cellist in orchestras throughout Europe. She is a member of the Valo string Quartet and plays in duo with the guitarist Antigoni Goni and with the pianist Piet Kuijken with whom she recently recorded the Brahms cello sonatas to critical acclaim.
“Norrington's rich, earthy low notes are complemented by her fluid, reflective way with a melody; and the Adagio of the Second Sonata unfolds in a single, long-breathed arc.” (Gramophone magazine March 2025)
Amy Norrington is the artistic director of the acclaimed international chamber music festival Resonances in Belgium, which attracts world class musicians from around the globe.
Amy is professor of cello at Luca School of Arts in Leuven and of chamber music at the Orpheus Institute in Gent.
